# Short story.-
I saw a close friend of mine just now. He was feeling quite down, but he told me he's been happier as compared to the last few days. This is what he told me...
He made a veri big decision. To him it was neither bad nor good, but he wanted to be happy. But his happiness involved his own girlfriend and another person. For him, hurting the feelings of others is the greatest crime ever, but in this case, someone has to be burned. He tried to do it the gentlest way possible. He succeeded to some extent, but there was no denying that the girl was hurt. But to his dismay, the other girl involved suddenly had a change of heart, and went with another guy.
My friend was devastated.
For 2 days and nights he was feeling like clothes in a washing machine, being spun and thrown around. His mind was a mess. His heart was shattered. His soul ripped apart. He gave up his beliefs and morals and pride to be with that girl, but in the end she just walked out the door without even giving him a chance. The things that they had done together, he could remember clearly, and every thought punctured his heart like needles. He made up his mind. He was going to avoid and ignore her forever, for making him into the mess he is today..
On Christmas afternoon, my friend went to blow off some steam at Jurong Point with a few friends. Turns out, that other girl was supposed to be there too. He went on full alert, looking out for her so that he could turn and run if he did see her. It worked well, and they went to the arcade and played a few games. After finishing a certain game, my friend walked out of the arcade and lo and behold, he saw the other girl there! She was talking to her friends, so she didn't see him. Instead of running away like my friend predicted, he just stood there looking at her for a while, admiring her. Thinking of how sweet she looked today, wearing white. How her hair flows over her shoulder, how it bounces around whenever she turns her head, how her eyes twinkle when she laughs, how amazing her smile is... and then he walked out and pretended to never see her at all. It was hard. It was like plunging into a mass of sharp glass shards. But he'd rather do that than completely become a moron once he's face to face with her. He waited a while, and then she left.
The moments after that was filled with thoughts about her in my friend's head. Finally, he decided to message her, telling her how sweet she looked today. That SMS started a messaging session that is lasting all the way till now.. Except that it didn't hurt so badly anymore. He'd just sincerely wish every night that the guy would take care of her and love her the way he would, because she deserves someone right this time. That was my friend's Christmas wish you know..
Oh yeah by the way, I met my friend when I looked into the mirror.
Merry Christmas!
The day the stars don't shine, that's the day you'll be replaced in my heart.
the story ends like this;
